Image Information
In this Census of 20 December 1870, "Addie" Taber, age 15 is listed. On the earlier 20 July 1870 Census, "Addie" is named "Adelaide" and is age 16. "Taber" is described as a "name by adoption" on her marriage certificate. Her parent's names were George Mathews and Sarah Leeason. There is no known record of formal adoption. This informal relationship to James Taber would explain why she does not appear as a witness on his death certificate. Adelaide married Charles R. King on 11 Sept 1878. There is no known record of her having produced children. She died after the 1920 Census, in the 1920's. William Taber, brother of James, is known to have lived with James all his life. However, he is missing from both 1870 census records. File historyLegend: (cur) = this is the current file, (del) = delete
