Mapping

Original Townships The following shows the approximate boundaries of the original Townships of Washington County. Care should be used because these boundaries are largely based on present day boundaries, working backward to exclude townships created after the initial erection of the county in 1784. Using this approach, some boundaries are "guestimates" of their original location. Finley and Pike County, as depicted here, formed at a later date, but their parent townships have not be determined. They may have been derived from Morgan and Cumberland townships in present day Green County.
