On May 3, 1820, in Madison County, Kentucky, McKinzie Willis married Mary Ann Logsdon,[8] daughter of Edward Logsdon and Mary Brown. His mother, Nancy, gave her approval to the marriage. McKinzie later moved with his family to Estill County, Kentucky. Children of McKinzie Willis were Edward D. Willis, Anna Rice Willis, Susan Willis, Amanda Willis, Merrill Willis, Martha Willis, William A. Willis, Mariam Willis, and Lucinda Willis
