Family talk:Robert Edmondson and Mary Glenn (1)

fixes [6 April 2009]

Don,

Good corrections. We also need a good source for this data. I suspect this is from source:Summers, 1929? but might be source:Summers, 1903.--Q 18:47, 2 March 2009 (EST)

It was Summers, 1929. Added to family page. Q 16:39, 3 March 2009 (EST)

Bill, Just add a Tombstone picture to the page and information on their Children according to Howard V. Jones...I have a lot of Pictures of graves in the Old Moore Cemetery My cousin Art Wills took he is the one that had the new tombstone set, will try to get them uploaded and on the proper pages soon...most of them are Edmondson or Buchanan graves... --Dlbradley1 12:21, 3 March 2009 (EST)

Also Good. I know Col Edmiston's home was somewhere right around Glade Springs. Do you happen to have it located more precisely? I'd like to create a map showing it, and any other features of relevance for the family. Q 16:38, 3 March 2009 (EST)

Banner [6 April 2009]

Don, I think the banner showing the gravestone is a nice way to display useful information. I have a couple of suggestions that you might consider.

a) see if there's a way to make the banner not quite so wide---it's length forces it to display below the list of advertisements on the right side bar---at least on my machine. If you've got a larger screen it may show up at the top. But to make it display well for everyone, it probably needs to be not quite so long. I get this same problem with the TOC-Register, and usually have to spend some effort figuring out how to make the section headings shorter, etc. just so they will display well.

b) The red on black IS very striking. Early on in Web 1.0 era, lots of sites went up using black text on a red background---or red text on a black background. But they found that this combination, as striking as it is, is difficult for many to read---which is why you dont see this combination much on web sites. You might want to consider other alternatives for a color scheme. Q 17:00, 6 April 2009 (EDT)

Bill, do you think this will work better check it out....the other worked on my screen because I have a wide screen, Thanks for pointing this out, If you have anymore suggestions feel free to do so as I am open to getting it the best we can....--Dlbradley1 19:11, 6 April 2009 (EDT)

HI Don. I figured you couldn't see the problem with the width. Its not something most folks would think about, unless they had encountered the problem. This works much better. Eventually I (and everyone else) will have one of those widescreen beauties, but I'm a conservative (and cheap) soul, and can't see tossing a perfectly good machine just to get a widescreen. The new color combination also works much better. Q 19:17, 6 April 2009 (EDT)

Bill, Thanks for the come back, I would have never known without you telling me...I would not have a wide screen either except mine when out and I had enought points from motel stays that I got mine with the points I had saved....am always open to suggestions...and I thank you for all the help you have given me..--Dlbradley1 21:13, 6 April 2009 (EDT)
