Family talk:John Skeath and Sarah Waters (1)

Wrong John Shaw? [4 June 2016]

The husband of this family cannot be Person:John Shaw (6) and I am removing him from the husband's spot.

Source:Vital records of Weymouth, Massachusetts, to the year 1850, p. 2:170, does list this marriage ("Shaw, John and Sarah Waters, June 7, 1658", it does not identify the husband any more than John Shaw. It must be a different individual since the John Shaw above was married to Alice in 26 Feb 1655/56 when his daughter Elizabeth's birth record names the mother as Alice; likewise she is named as mother of all the rest of his children including his last, son Ebenezer 24 Apr 1674, on 17 Oct 1704, named as his widow Alice when administration on his estate was granted to her. To quote Source:History of Weymouth, Massachusetts, p. 4:612: "He married, near 1650, Alice Phillips, the mother of all of his children, who survived her husband." Unfortunately, Source:History of Weymouth, Massachusetts does not appear to mention any other likely John Shaw, nor any Waters family at all. --Jrich 19:25, 22 June 2009 (EDT)
