That's a lot of excellent research. I'm missing the part that ties the New Haven William to the Bingley William, though. If you come across that, please let us know!--Amelia 23:32, 11 February 2010 (EST)

  • In New Haven, 1650s, where William and Alice were having children, there are contemporaries getting married named Ellen (1652), Stephen (1663), and Joshua (child 1665), and Nathan is having children in Guilford.
  • Savage says "Bradley, DANIEL, New Haven, sw. fidel. 1637, had w. but no ch. d. Dec. 1608 [sic], and his est. went, after the wid.'s portion, to Joshua, Nathan, Stephen, and William Bradlee, and the w. of John Alling, wh. was Ellen Bradlee. William was call. br. and such prob. was the relat. of the other heirs. ... WILLIAM, New Haven, m. 18 Feb. 1645, Alice Prichard, perhaps d. of Roger of Springfield, had Joseph, bapt. 4 Jan. 1646; Martha, 8 Oct. 1648; Abraham, b. 24 Oct. 1650, Mary, 30 Apr. bapt. 1 May 1653; Benjamin, 8, bapt. 12 Apr. 1657; Esther, 29 Sept. bapt. 25 Nov. 1659; Nathaniel, b. 26 Feb. 1661; and Sarah, 21, bapt. 25 June 1665. He d. 1691, made his will 22 June 1683, in wh. he ment. all the s. d. Munson, wh. was Martha, w. of Samuel, m. 26 Oct. 1665; Mary, w. of Samuel Todd, m. 26 Nov. 1668; and d. Brockett; wh. was Sarah, m. 23 May 1682; Esther d. prob. unm. Mr. Porter thinks, this William was br. of Daniel by an elder w. of their f. and that he and other ch. were brot. by their mo. a wid. wh. was a midwife at N. H. in 1655. "
  • The website cited above cites The Bradford Parish Register published 1891 for Bradford/Shipley for William's birth. Shipley is less than two miles from both Bingley and Bradford.
  • There are no Joanna Waddington's in Bingley, or in FS or in WorldConnect supported by sources. The ones there are divided between one married to Daniel and one married to William, and show all the hallmarks of mixed up assumptions from Ancestral File.

Based on the unusual names of the Bradleys in New Haven that correspond to the children of Daniel in Bingley, and the same unusual names that appear amongst William's children, I think they are the same families. I think it is likely that the specificity of the Bradford parish register cite means that there is a William born or christened there on the given date. Whether the parents are given as Daniel or not is a question, but I'm comfortable with the notion that they are all children of Daniel, regardless of whether William's birth can be identified.

I also think there is no evidence for Joanna Waddington, and clear primary evidence for Elizabeth Atkinson. I'm changing the name back.--Amelia 22:58, 13 February 2010 (EST)
