The Lawson family who employed Jane's father James gave them a silver teapot on their wedding. Judy has it. Marriage at Clyneleish Church of Scotland. Witnesses: Maggie Murray, John Mackay.

The family lived in Gower St in 1911 in a house with only 3 rooms with windows which was owned by Williiam's brother Andrew. Andrew also owned the house in Rosslyn St, which in 1911 was run as a boarding house by Miss Fogo. Jane & William moved there sometime between 1915 (William was invalided out of the army at the end of 1915) and the end of 1917. This was a much bigger house it had 8 rooms with windows and Jane ran it as Mackay's Temperance Hotel. This was referred to in William's obituary. http://www.ross-shirejournal.co.uk/Features/Reflections/88-Years-Ago-2769.htm

The Valuation Roll of 1915 gives Andrew as the owner of these 2 houses.
