Reviews previous research, particularly NYGBR 86:212 article by George McCracken. Detailed analysis by Jacobus is that they were probably married sometime in July 1649 by Elizabeth's brother-in-law John Winthrop based on a letter written 6 Aug 1649, in which she is effusive in her thanks to John for an unspecified favor. This letter was saved by John Winthrop, with the endorsement "Mrs. Hallet" on the outside. As late as 17 May 1649, a warrant issued for the arrest of "one Hallitt" for living "with one that was Mr. Pheax his wife", suggesting not legally married by this date.
