Warning, some researchers claim that the parents of the five Gay brothers that migrated from Ireland to the "Little Calf Pasture" area of Augusta County, Virginia were William Gay and Margaret Hamilton, but exensive primary research done by John B. Robb of Virginia and also research done by Robert H. Montgomery, have disproved the often-cited "myth" of William and Margaret as their parents. Mr. Robb has determined that the likely parents were a John and Agnes Gay. John B. Robb's detailed genealogical analysis report is available at the following site: [1]
