The wife of William Dobbs is tentatively identified as Catharina Van Syssen, the daughter of Joost Van Seysen and Antje Huysman, baptized 1 February 1721. However, she could have been Catharina Van Seijsen, the daughter of Cornelus Van Seysen and Maria Blydenburgh, baptized 19 June 1723. The two Catharina's are likely first cousins. Whichever was the wife of Williams Dobbs probably died before 1757, by which point William Dobbs had a new wife.

Some have included Jarvis Dobbs as a child of this marriage, although Dobbs researcher Lee Gruzen (who is descended from Jarvis) expresses doubt about this.
