When first married in 1880, they lived in the town of Staplehurst, Nebraska. The town was established in 1879 when the railroad was first extended there, and was named after Staplehurst, Kent, England, where a number of its settlers (including Ada Jull) were from.
They moved to Lodi (San Joaquin), California in 1908, and both are buried there.
