A rough estimate of the time of Jane’s first marriage can be based on the known birth date of her second child. Elizabeth was born in April of 1781, and assuming that Jane’s son Harry was born at least two years earlier, then the latest possible date of Jane’s first marriage was probably around 1778. Assuming Jane was born between 1749 and 1759, probably closer to 1759, then a rough estimated date of marriage would be between 1771 and 1778.
