Miss Emma Gano and Capt. Thomas Scurry were married Thursday morning [Jan 23] at the home of the bride's father, Gen. R. M. Gano of Oak Cliff, the latter performing the ceremony. The wedding was quietly celebrated, with only the immediate relatives in attendance. The bride wore the wedding gown of her mother, or heavy ivory brocade, with fichu of lace and lillies-of-the-valley. She was attended by her sister, Miss Mattie Gano. Among the many handsome gifts from friends was a case of beautiful silver from the Houston Light Guards, of which the groom was once captain. After a wedding breakfast, Capt. and Mrs. Scurry left for a trip to New Orleans and Atlanta.
