"… an examination of the parish records of Shelton was recently made, but only one item of interest was located, i.e. the marriage record of Thomas and Grace Norton: 5 May 1631 Thos. Norton & Grace Wells married."
I've tried to sort out fact from fiction re: this Norton family, but nowhere as yet do I find reference to sources, other than a statement that Thomas and Grace's family left Deane Parish [where children were allegedly bp on certain dates] for Ockley, Surrey after 1635. Thomas is noted as being a warden of the church in Ockley before leaving with Rev. Whitfield in 1639, ending up in Guilford. Dates for children are very much in contention w/o parish record verification.
Shelton parish is a neighbor to Deane parish.
