All of their children except the first are baptised at St Peter's Chapel in the parish of Allendale. The baptism records give a variety of information over the years. The 1793 and 1797 baptisms name both parents, the father's occupation, and their residence. The 1800, 1803, and 1805 baptism records give a wonderfully rich account with parents and grandparents including all maiden names. The 1808 and 1811 baptisms fall back to just giving the parents' names, but do include the mother's maiden name.

From FHL film# 1068646 item #10: "Baptised September 4th 1791 George son of Thomas Chatt, Peacock House."

The residence of Peacock House is significant for linking George to his parents, and to his maternal grandparents, who also resided there. Elizabeth Carr's father resided at Peacock House according to baptism records of 4 of his children between 1766 and 1774, including Elizabeth in 1771. A William Chatt who baptised a daughter Elizabeth in 1790 was also listed as living at Peacock House. Per an Ordnance Survey map of 1865, Peacock House was about 1.5 miles south of the Whitley Church, and 0.4 miles NE of White Hall Farm.

From FHL film 1068646 item 15, the burial records of Elizabeth (Oct 1827) and Thomas (Jan 1828) both list their abode as Sipton Shield, which is a farm just north of the hamlet of Spartylea. Even though they lived very near the Chapel of St. Peter's and Allenheads, in the parish of Allendale, and baptized nearly all of their children there, they were both buried over the hill in the Chapel of Whitley, parish of Hexham, near where they had been born and lived when first married.
