The marriage registration was from Ontario Marriage Registers 1858-1869. These registers originated as annual returns sent by clergymen to the County Registrar. They were copied once by the clergyman from his own notes, and then again into the Registrar's Book by his clerk. Two chances of mistranscription, compounded by the inavailabilty of an image of the Registrar's Book on Ancestry.
