After at least three years as a widower, Roger Shaw married in the fall of 1652 to Susanna, widow of William Tilton. As is evident from his will, he signed a prenuptial agreement with her providing for her Tilton sons. Together Roger and Susannah Shaw sold William Tilton's land in Lynn on 8 February [or 8 March] 1653/4, described as two acres and a house bought from John Wing, three acres on Sagamore Hill, four acres of marsh, and a twelve-acre planting lot...

Acknowledging that he had pledged sums to the children of his second wife, Roger Shaw, yeoman of Hampton, made good on these pledges, including conveying on 6 April 1660 fifteen acres in Hampton and five acres of salt marsh there to Samuel Tilton, "ye son of Susana my late wife now deceased."[41] To her youngest son, Daniel Tilton, Roger Shaw had promised a payment of L10, which his executor, Joseph Shaw, paid to Daniel's guardian, Samuel Tilton.[42]
