Documentation Supporting Their Children

A Yarmouth record made in 1677 lists the children of Richard Taylor along with their ages (but no mother’s name), calculating births between 1652 and 1667, in this order:

  1. Richar Taylar his son was 25yrs old the 9th of J(worn)*
  2. Meehittabell Taylar was 23 yrs old the 23 of July 1677*
  3. Kesia: Taylar: was 21 yers old the 18 of ffebury 1676*
  4. Gesur: Taylar: was 18 yers old the 9th of may 1677
  5. Hanna : Taylar was 16 yers old the 17th of Septemb 1677*
  6. Elysha : Taylar was 13 yers old the 10th of ffebry 1676*
  7. Mary Taylar was 10 yers old the 12th of June 167(worn)

(*) are also named in the probate records of Richard Taylor (will 1693; codicil 1699; inventory 1703):

  1. Richard Taylor
  2. Mehitable (1699 codicil names a grand-daughter Mehitable Smith)
  3. Keziah Eldridge (and her son Samuel Eldridge [Jr.?]; also names "Samuel Eldridge" (husband of Keziah?) with Richard and Elisha, all "beloved sons"); in the 1699 codicil, additional grandchildren, Jehosophat, Mehitable Eldridge are named)
  4. Hannah Jenkins ("twenty shillings, if she come for it, but not else. And if she doth not come for it within two years after my decease, I do give it equally to my two other daughters, Mehetable and Keziah.")
