  3.   Note: Names and dates of Thomas Arrasmith's parents are from a family bible (Ewell Roberts Arrasmith of Bethel, KY). The other names are deduced or noted from old letters with son confirmed by the bible record.
Maurine Krohne pointed out that Richard's will didn't specifically prove that we have the correct Thomas as his son.
At least one family tradition has it that 4 brothers came to America, then spit up to different areas, 1 to NY, 1 to MD, 1 To VA & 1 to the Carolinas. The NY branch is probably the Staten Island Arrowsmiths, the Maryland branch is probably Samuel Arrowsmith's clan & Richard is probably the VA branch. I haven't seen any proof of this yet.
"Servants to Foreign Plantations" Vol II 1663-1679 (16-6),includes a Thomas Arrowsmith; destination Virginia. Is he a relation, perhaps father, of Richard?
An Aaron Arrowsmith helped prepare a map of KY in 1804 (64-17).What relationship would he be?
