Spouse

The 1747 will of Richard Adams identifies his wife as "Alys". Most genealogies identify her as Gertien Op den Graef, apparently based on a marriage record not yet recovered here. (Oct 2014) There are several possible explanations to consider:

  • Alys is a nickname for Gertien (not very likely)
  • Gertien predeceased him, and he remarried to Alys
  • There are two different Richard Adams in the area, and their data has been confused.
