Overview

This article is for the Peter Walker who died in Accomack County VA between 29 October 1703 (will) and 1 August 1704 (probate). Peter's will identifies his father as Peter Walker of Accomack County, and his siblings as including Daniel, Henry, James, and Mary. Son Daniel is sometimes identified as Person: Daniel Walker (14)....

Lineages on Ancestry typically identify Peter's wife as "Alice Woods", sometimes giving a DOM for 10 March 1667. This is probably based on a marriage record for Radcliffe Parish, Lancashire County, England that identifies a Peter Walker of Prestwick Parish, marrying Alice Woods of Radcliffe Parish, on 10 March 1667. This seems consistent with the fact that other Walkers in the area (Daniel Walker (14) in Talbot County, for example,) are belived to have come from Stand of Pilkington in Prestwick Parish. However, This looks to be a misidentification. Peter's father, Peter (5), had been on the Delmarva for at least 10 years when he died there in 1655. It seems highly unlikely that Peter (4) would have returned to England to marry in 1666, and then return to Accomack County.
