MARRIAGE: Roxbury 9 May 1646 Rebecca Crooke, daughter of Roger Crooke (in his will, dated 2 March 1638/9, "Roger Crooke in the town of Hammersmith of the parish of Fulham in the county of Middlesex" in England included a bequest to "three daughters, Mary, Rebecca, and Ruth Crooke" [NEHGR 63:279-80, citing Commissary Court of London, 1639-42, folio 23]; on 12 December 1646, "Peter Gardiner of Roxbury, carpenter, & Rebecca his wife constituted Michaell Powell of Dedham in New England their lawful attorney to ask & receive &c. a certain legacy ... given unto the said Rebecca by the last will & testament of Roger Crooke of Hammersmith near London, tailor, deceased" [Aspinwall 68]). She died at Roxbury on 10 June 1675 "in her 45th year," and was buried there on 11 June 1675 [RChR 182].
