  3.   The marriage of Nathaniel Haven to Abigail Rice clearly presents problems to various researchers, because there were three generations of Nathaniel Havens alive in 1741, and two generations of Abigail Rices.

Source:Rugg, Ellen R. Descendants of John Rugg, p. 431 pairs the son of this Nathaniel, b. 1726, with Abigail, the daughter of Jason Rice and Abigail Clark, b. 1723. While these two match generation-wise, they were too young to marry in 1741 (Nathaniel was only 15). Also, since Nathaniel and Abigail name their first son Clark, not Rice, it suggests the wife involved in this marriage is Abigail (Clark) Rice, not her daughter.

Source:Edmund Rice (1638) Association ([1]) pairs the father of this Nathaniel, b. 1664, with Abigail the widow of Jason Rice. They are over a generation apart. The older Nathaniel was having children over 30 years before Abigail first married Jason Rice (Moses b. 1692 versus marriage in 1722). They even note that Abigail married Nathaniel of Hopkinton, which clearly refers to this Nathaniel, not his father of Framingham.
