Geneva (alt. Genevieve, Jenny) Montie married Michel Maran Benoit around 1896. Michel would have been around 62 years old at the time of their marriage, and Geneva would have been around 17 years of age. Michele and Geneva had three daughters. According to Michel's son Willie Benoit, there were also two children from this marriage who died, Jessie and Bennie. Willie was young when his mother Marie Domathile (or Donathile) died, so Geneva raised him. According to Willie, "she was a good woman."
