Various Internet websites may be found that give the above date, or else 1702 (those that want to include Matthew's eldest daughter Hannah (Gannett) Parris in this marriage), or else 1718 (those that want to match Mary with a different Matthew Gannett who is too young to marry in 1708). Mary's death record in 1713 indicates she was 38, so born about 1675, so if the above date is incorrect, she is old enough to be the mother of Hannah in 1702. However, if the above date was correct, she was probably the second of three wives. The third was Mary Neal in 1714. The first is unknown, only suggested to exist because of the daughter Hannah who was b. 1702 and who m. 1724. However, since Hannah's birth in 1702 also implies that Matthew's birth in 1685 is incorrect, i.e., requires assuming two errors, further explanation is needed...
