Luther was 19 years old and Theresa was 16 years old when they married.

In the 1930 Federal Census, Luther and "Threse" were living with Luther's parents, Earl and Laura Angel, at 2315 Fox Avenue in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Also living with them was their daughter, Dorothy J. Angel, who was 1 year and 9 months old.

Luther and Theresa had one daughter.

Luther enlisted as a private in the U. S. Army on December 9, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio. Luther was divorced, without dependents. He was 67 inches tall and weighed 167 pounds.

Theresa was 42 years old when she died.

Theresa's obituary reads, "Mrs. Theresa M. Ort, 43, a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne, died at 7 p.m. Monday in her home, 524 E. Lewis St. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Surviving are a daughter...; her mother, Mrs. Mary Ort, both of Fort Wayne; six brothers, Cyril E., Edgar P., Joseph, Howard and William Ort, all of this city; and Wilford Ort, Los Angeles; a sister, Mrs. Joe Kiehnlein, Fort Wayne; and two grandchildren. The body is in the Jule Schone Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 p.m. today. Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home and at 9 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, the V. Rev. Msgr. J. Nicholas Allgeier officiating. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery." [Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, Wednesday 26 May 1954, pg. 10]
