Source:Stickney, Matthew Adams. Fowler Family, p. 56, suggests the widow Abigail Perley that Joseph Fowler married is "widow of Samuel Perley, and the daughter of Mr. Cummings". It appears that he means Person:Abigail Cummings (1), who died as a widow in Rowley in 1726 (Rowley VRs, p. 1:503) before Joseph's marriage to Abigail Perley even took place. So this appears to be a mistaken identification. Joseph Fowler is not mentioned in Source:Perley, Martin Van Buren. History and Genealogy of the Perley Family. No other records in Boxford VRs offer any clue who the widow Abigail Perley is.
