"Joseph (Champney) … m. by 1656 Sarah Poole, daughter of John Poole of Reading; the inventory of the estate of 'Joseph Champney, late of Billerica, deceased,' taken 23 May 1656, was presented at court on 19 June 1656 by 'Sarah, the relic widow of Joseph Champney, deceased,' at which time 'the friends of the said Joseph Champney deceased having manifested their willingness to allow & yield the said Sarah the whole estate' [MPR 1:94-95); she m. (2) Cambridge 19 August 1656 William Barrett."
