Joseph2 Andrews … married Rebecca _____, … It is suggested that Rebecca wife of Joseph Andrews may possibly have been that Rebecca Whaples, born about 1653, who was called 18 years old in the inventory of the estate of her father, Thomas Whaples, taken 1 Jan. 1671/2 [(ibid. (Manwaring), 1:253], which would explain the naming of her brother Ephraim Whaples as a distributor of the Andrews estate, as well as her giving the name Ephraim to a son, and perhaps also the removal of this Andrews family to Newington Parish in Wethersfield, the main home of the Whaples family. Ephraim Whaples lived in Hartford for a time, while another brother of Rebecca, Thomas Whaples, became a permanent resident there and joined the Second Church while the Andrews family was connected with that parish."
