Married in the presence of George Cain and Mary Jackson. Church of England, no parish recorded.

Elizabeth and John were born on the family farm which is still run by the Reynolds family, Lot 14, Concession 13, Tecumseth County, Ont.

The family was busy with the chores of pioneer life. John of Ireland was a weaver and he soon obtained a few shep from other pioneers and grew flax. In time a weaver's shed was built. Washing the wool in the creek at the back of the farm, carding, spinning, and weaving became part of the life of this early pioneer family. Life prospered and the farm expanded as the land was cleared. In time a frame house replaced the original rock elm log cabin which was moved several yards west to house sheep. In 1863 the main barn was built and later the horsestabe and pig barn. These barns continue to house livestock today. The Reynolds were Methodists and no doubt worshipped at first with neighbours in their homes. The Campbell Church situated on the south-east part of lot 17, concession 14 of Tecumseth was attended occasionally. Later they worshipped with their neighbours at the home of John Banting Sr. This is the first record we have of any regular service around Thompsonville, and is noted in a church record of 1855. Between 1855 and 1860, a log church was built east of sideroad 10, halfway between concession 13 and 14. It was known as the Agnew Church as Mr. Sam Agnew had donated land on which it was built. This was a Wesleyon Methodist Church.
