  1.   Source:Cutter, William Richard. New England Families, Genealogical and Memorial, p. 2:787, adds a son Samuel to this family, bp. 4 Jan 1701. If this date means 4 Jan 1700/01, it does not leave enough time after the death of his first wife 15 Nov 1700 for a pregnancy, much less a mourning and courtship. If this dates means 4 Jan 1701/02, it is only 3 months before son Fifield is born, which is again a serious conflict. No such record is found in VR Cambridge, but Source:Cambridge, Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States. Records of the Church of Christ at Cambridge in New England, 1632-1830, p. 49, show a baptism of "Samuel at John Jacksons" on 4 Jun 1699. This date would make Samuel a son of the first wife who Cutter said had no issue. One must wonder if the "at" in this baptism record implies "of", or if it refers to somebody else's child, since it seems to contradict other information. In any event, it doesn't seem that Samuel belongs to this marriage.
