Child list largely based on Source:Houston, 1882, but see Analysis. The Children of John Houston (15) for some alternatives. Two possibilities as children that some genealogists identifiy are:

person:Mary Houston (13) sometimes identified as the wife of a James Blair, and mentioned in John (15)'s will. Some genealogists give Mary's POD as "Somme, France", but provide no substantiation. A more credible genealogy gives

Mary was born in 1726 in Ballyvoy, Antrim, Ireland. Mary's father is Robert Blair and her mother was Martha Campbell Lyle. She was an only child. She died at the age of 95 on August 12th, 1821 in Timber Ridge, Rockbridge, Virginia. Goodwin Family, April 2012

Person:James Houston (17) who lived on Beverley's manor after about 1762. Source:Houston, 1882 identifies a son James but says he remained in Ireland
