  4.   Source:Johnson, Edward Francis. Notes on the Family of Deacon Edward Convers puts an apparently fictitious Josiah in this family: Children of John Convers and Abigail Sawyer: [listed last] Josiah [#62]. He lived in Leicester. m. (1) Hannah ---, m. (2) 1732 Eleanor Richardson. He must have been confused by Josiah Converse acting as guardian for Joshua, Abigail and Patience in 1718 and 1721, but a Josiah old enough to do this would have had to have been born before John and Abigail married, probably John's brother, their uncle.

There is no birth record for Josiah, he is not mentioned at all in his father's probate, and Johnson does not give the basis for thinking this family had a son Josiah. The marriage indicated is attributed by other sources to other Josiah's, who do have evidence supporting their existence (e.g., see Family:Josiah Converse and Eleanor Richardson (1), which also has a more detailed discussion). So everything suggests this purported son Josiah is merely Johnson being confused because he did not bother to adequately study the family of Allen Converse.
