    In a 1711 mortgage by demise between George Bridger, mercer of Horsham, and Elizabeth Toft, spinster of Horsham, the third - sixth recites:

    iii) 18 July 1660. Marriage settlement (a) John Bridger to (b) Sir John Rivers, Nicoll Rivers, esq., Hall Ravenscroft, Thomas Shepherd, gent. on marriage of John Bridger to Mary Rivers, sister of John, for (a) to hold in trust to the use of (b) and then his heirs
    (iv) Death of John Bridger leaving a widow, a son and two daughters
    (v) 16/17 April 1706. Lease and Release (a) Thomas Cripps and Ann (née Bridger) his wife and Francis Ellison and Mary (née Bridger) his wife; (b) Rev. Thomas Rivers of All Souls College, Oxford; (c) Mary Bridger; (d) John Pitt and William Williams; (d) is to hold property I in trust for Thomas and Ann Cripps and property II in trust for Francis and Mary Ellison
