FAMILY
Jean Courrege
Born February 3, 1855, in Jefferson Parish (New Orleans), Jean Courrege was the eldest of the six children of Simon Courrege and Marie Couget.
Marie Rodrigue
Marie Rodrigue was one of eight children of Jean Adolphe Rodrigue and Marie Donatile Naquin. She was born in Lafourche Parish, Nov. 12, 1863.
Marriage
Jean married Marie in 1880 and of this union were the eleven children. In his lifetime he acquired considerable property, of which part was devoted to his livelihood slaughterhouse operation (buying cattle and selling the meat wholesale to smaller operated butchers). [2]
