    Juan Baptista BOURGEOIS, son of Juan & Ludovina GRANGE, married on 29 Nov 1802 to Rosalia LE BLANC, legitimate daughter of Joseph LE BLANC & the deceased Margarita DUHON. Witnesses: Carlos TERRIOT; Pedro BOURGEOIS; Juan Luis BOURGEOIS [probablyJean Baptiste's brother]. Recorded at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, LA (SJA-2, 65).

    [In a photocopy of original record in Spanish from the Department of the Archives, Diocese of Baton Rouge, Jean's name is spelled J'n B'ta BOURGEOIS. His mother's surname has an accent over the last E as GRANGÉ. Both parties were natives of the Parish of Santiago de Cabahanocé [St. James, LA].     The bride was not yet 16 years old. The groom died less than 5 months after the wedding. Charles THERIOT, listed as the first witness to the marriage, the 1st cousin of groom, was the future husband of the bride in her 2nd marriage. Rosalie was a widow of Jean Baptiste BOURGEOIS when she married Charles THERIOT in 1804, over 18 months after 1st marriage, at age 17 1/2 years.
