At one time, as grieve, they would have lived in the 'cross' house, at right angles to the other 3 cottages. Clyneleish farm house was built in 1865 and I did B&B there in 1986.
In 1901 in Inverness the family lived in a house with 4 rooms with windows. They were one of several families living in Attadale House. All had 4 rooms with windows.
James lived in Canada without his family 1904-1909 and became naturalised. He returned for his family. The family emigrated to Canada between 2 April and 1 June1911.(Census dates)
On 2 April 1911 James and Elizabeth were living in Greenland, Dunnet near their son Sinclair and his family. Their children Jessie, Edward and Cecilia were with them.
On 1 June 1911 and in 1916 they lived at 511 Stiles St, Winnipeg.
