    at entry for James Cattanach: A highly-respected pioneer was James Cattanach, who settled on Lot 5, about 1834. He and his wife, Christina Sherratt, were both born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. They were the parents of seven sons and several daughters, who were James, Archibald, John, Robert, Andrew, David and George; Isabella married Alexander Smart and Frances married Alexander McDonald.
