Children
Jacob and Catherine (Johnson) Roe had six children, two of whom were Charles and Joseph.S3 Based on the 1840 census, they also had a daughter born 1820-1825, and a daughter born between 1825-1830, which accounts for 4 of their 6 children. Presumably the other two died young.

Charles J. Roe, a leading citizen of Hendricks township, is a native of Clarke [sic] County, Ind., where he was born 20 June 1820, being the eldest in a family of six children, born to Jacob D. and Catharine (Johnson) Roe, who were natives of New York and Kentucky, respectively.
