  2.   Gloucester VRs say that Rachel, the wife of Jabez, died 1731 in her 48th year, so born about 1682-1683. The age is a good match to the daughter of Joseph and Rachel (Griggs) Allen, and they named their first child Joseph. However, Source:Davis, Walter Goodwin. Ancestry of Abel Lunt 1769-1806, of Newbury, Massachusetts, p. 95, says that this Rachel, d/o Joseph and Rachel (Griggs) Allen, was not living in 1724. This is presumably based on the fact that she was not named in her father's will. Now the will of the father does say that the children's legacies are besides what was already given, and perhaps he felt she had already received her full share, but if Rachel was alive, she would be the only living child that was not mentioned. Perhaps for similar reasons, Source:Perley, Sidney. History of Salem, Massachusetts, p. 3:107, says the wife of Jabez Baker was the Rachel Allen who was born 4 Feb 1675/76. Source:Essex Antiquarian (Essex Antiquarian), p. 3:178, identifies the Rachel born 1676 as the daughter of Jacob Allen and Elizabeth Clifford, but says she married Joseph Hilliard in 1694. So there is confusion and more evidence would be useful. If Rachel was given such a generous share during her father's lifetime, it could be there's a deed showing this, and confirming her as the daughter of Joseph?
