It was recorded that the birth place of Henry, his wife, and his daughter were Lincoln, Metheringham, and Branston, respectively. His daughter was attending school (occ. “scholar”).

“Henery” A. Hall (occ. lock keeper) was residing with his wife Susan (occ. staymaker), son Henry W., daughters Martha A., Sarah A., Elizabeth, and Eliza, and a lodger Thon Holmes. It was recorded that his first child Martha and two youngest, Henry and Eliza, were born in Bardney. Also, Sarah was born in Spalding, and Elizabeth was born in Louth. Sarah, Elizabeth, and Henry were attending school (occ. “scholar”).

Family History

On 23 June 1840, Henry Hall of Metheringham, painter and son of William Hall, clerk to the Commissioners of Drainage, and Susan Newton of the same place, dress maker and daughter of Robert Newton, labourer, were married at the parish church of Metheringham, Lincolnshire, by Philip Alps. The marriage was witnessed by (Henry's father) William Hall and John Taylor.[1]
