In 1892 when Harry was 25, he married Ada Downing, daughter of Isaac Edward Downing (1835-?) & Rebecca Hicks (1837-1897), in Waverly, OH. Harry and Ada had five children.
Harry Cassman Sr and Harry Cassman Jr, were both machinists for the Monon Railroad in Lafayette. They worked in the roundhouse.
Herschel and Leo Cassman were pharmacists at Goodnights drugstore in Lafayette.
Walter Freezee (husband of Lulu Cassman) was an electrical engineer and Purdue graduate.
Son-in-law Herman Feaster was a hotel clerk in the Elkhart hotel during the depression. When he lost his job Herman and Mildred moved the family back to Lafayette and lived with Harry and Ada. Leo Cassman lived next door. Herman and Mildred continued living in their parent’s house even after the Cassmans died. Ada deeded the house to Herman and Mildred and died of a sudden stroke within weeks.
