Particularly detailed baptism records for three of their granddaughters confirm that Elizabeth is the daughter of "George Carr, farmer, of Hexhamshire, and his wife Mary late Armstrong". In the 1805 baptism, the other grandfather is described as "late" but George Carr is not, suggesting that he may have been still alive in 1805.

George Carr & Mary Armstrong both of this parish were married in this church by banns this 27th day of May 1758 by me Wm Graham curate.
This marriage was solemnized between us
George Carr & Mary Armstrong in the presence of us

The signatures of bride, groom, and witnesses in distinct hands indicates that this is an original contemporaneous record (and that bride and groom could both write their names).
