Source:Cutter, William Richard. New England Families, Genealogical and Memorial, p. 1:158 (along with its near clone, Source:Crane, Ellery B. Historic Homes and Institutions and Genealogical and Personal Memoirs of Worcester County, Massachusetts) state with no comment that George and Elizabeth married 24 Sep 1642, and had first Elizabeth, b. 1641, d. 20 Dec 1643. Source:Dedham, Norfolk, Massachusetts, United States. Early Records of the Town of Dedham, Massachusetts, p. 127, says 1642. Elizabeth Barbur, deceased the 20th of ye 12 mo. Besides exhibiting a surprising sloppiness with his dates, Cutter does not explain how this record is known to be a daughter of George, nor how it translate to a birth in 1641. There is also recorded the death of a Richard "Barbur" on 18 Jun 1644, yet Cutter does not postulate a son Richard for George?
