Dtr Alice doesn't know how they met: Honor was Methodist, Ern a Presbyterian, Ern danced, Honor didn't, Honor didn't return to Waitara until she started work, and then that was for the Tate's, over near Tikorangi rather than Huirangi, the other side of the river. The Tate's however might be the connection as Ern's sister Jessie married Archie Tate, albeit in 1914, some 6 yrs later
