    'This marriage date is fixed within relatively narrow limits. On 2 July 1667 Elizabeth was "whipt att the post" for committing fornication the second time (Records of the Colony of New Plymouth, 4:162). However, on 23 July 1668 her father, George Soule, deeded "unto Francis Walker husband to my daughter "Elizabeth" (Plymouth Colony Deeds, 3:126; see also May. Desc., 27:39).'
