E. T Richey was born at Pine Forest, Texas, the second son of Andrew Jackson Rickey and Sarah Ann Truitt. He grew up on a farm which was part of the original land grant of John Stuart Richey Survey and land awarded to his father for his confederate service. E. T. married Mary Josephine Anglin, of another Pine Forest Family. They were married 24 November 1881 at Hopkins County. They lived for about a year with his Aunt Mat Truitt and her husband, C. S. Hefner, on the C. S. Hefner survey at Gilmer in Morris County Texas before moving to Pine Forest.

E. T. and Mary had six children, three of whom died young.

Alva Richey, born 19 September 1882 at Gilmer, Texas married Joseph V. Post. Alva and Joseph Post are both buried in Pine Forest Cemetery.

Crawford James Sylvanus Richey, born 1884, married Agnes Rose. This family later moved to Shreveport, Louisiana.

Mattie Vera was born 23 January 1886 and died 23 September 1887. Willie Lee was born 10 November 1887 and he died 8 October 1888. Mirtle B was born 2 March 1889 and died 18 January 1893.

I can't imagine the heartache of losing three children within the span of a few years. These three children are buried with their parents in Pine Forest Cemetery.

Andrew Floyd Richey, born 29 June 1892, died 4 Jan 1862 at Sherman, Texas. He married Lora Vista Howard. They had five children and made their home in Winnesboro.

E. T. and Mary lived most of their lives in Hopkins County, where he was a Methodist preacher most of his life. She died 13 March 1894 and is buried at Pine Forest.
