  2.   NYGBR, p. 43:290, in a submitted pedigree, identifies Mary as "dau. of John Allen, a merchant of Boston, Mass.", b. ---, 1728, d. March --, 1792, aged 62 "at ---". The actual record found in Boston Deaths (apparently based on obituaries in the Boston newsapers) is March 1790, age 62 [birth about 1728], of Mrs. Mary Durant, living on Middle St. in Boston. John and Mary Allin of Boston had a daughter Mary, b. 30 Dec 1721, bp. 31 Dec 1721 (see Boston Births 1700-1800, also Boston Church Records). No other John Allen is apparent in the records. The family appears fairly regularly in the records, and while the unrecorded birth of a child in 1728 might be squeezed in the family (between other births 1726 and 1729), it would be expected that at least a baptism would be recorded. Thus it is not clear this is the Mary being referred to. More information is needed.
