David took part in the Scotch rebellion of 1715, and fled to Ulster, Ireland and who, with his co-patriots, were compelled to "flee from the wrath to come," at the close of this rebellion. He took refuge in the providence of Ulster in Ireland, where a son, WILLIAM WILSON was born on November 16, 1722, and that son was destined to be the founder of a most distinguished branch of the family in the little colony of Virginia (through his son Benjamin who became a Reprentative for WV). In 1725 his first wife, Deborah Graef, and the mother of the two boys William and James, passed away in Armagh. It is assumed that James remarried quickly in order to have his children cared for. It is unknown what Charity's maiden name was or much else other than she immigrated with David and James to Augusta County in 1740. William immigrated with two of his cousins in the same year.James bought land on Craig's Creek in 1746 about the same time that their father passed away. As the county boundary lines changed frequently over the next couple of decades, brothers lived a few miles apart but in different counties. When James died, his family moved on through Kentucky, northern LA, and settled in Vandervoort Arkansas for a few decades. This family stayed true to the Presbyterian faith of their ancestors who fought in the Scottish Rebellion and uprisings.
