Mary's maidenname (wife of David Kenyon) is unknown. The Sanford name was quickly disproved after it was published in "American Kenyons" by Capt. Howard N. Kenyon. Subsequently, one of the silver books published by The Mayflower Society said she was Mary Gardiner. Again, the documentation in the book does not substantiate the Gardiner maidenname. Her maidenname is unknown.
